The kid has talent to back up all that swagggggg.ĭownload this and start your Wiz collection the right way- forget the radio hits and iTunes releases. Anyone who says Wiz is all talk and no show hasn't listened to him enough. "Gettin Up"- Barbershop-type of instrumental fits perfectly with Wiz's laid-back flow. Wiz sample's Empire of the Sun's "Walking On a Dream" and uses the chorus as a perfect hook. "The Thrill"- Easily the best-known song on this tape but still a banger- drop this at any party and everyone will be feeling good. "Young Khalifa"- Can you say "A Milli"? The aggressive flow, repetitive hook and Weezy-like laugh pays homage to Wayne while the lyricism is genuine Wiz. Let's run through my personal favorite tracks (but as always, the entire album deserves a listen- these are the songs that really REALLY stood out to me). Rolling Papers is an absolute perfect showcase of this. However, when Wiz is spitting rhymes over some real thumpers and able to let his lyricism shine through, that's when he's at his best. Burn After Rolling is easily Wiz's finest collection of music, with Kush and Orange Juice being a close second.īurn After Rolling is Wiz in his element- forget his iTunes debut album Rolling Papers- Wiz rapping over delicate and light beats is not his forte. Butttttt, like many of today's up-and-comers- the weed-smoking, Converse-wearing, care-free living MC's- Wiz's best material is on his mixtapes. Not to take anything away from those two songs- I couldn't be happier that Wiz is getting major playtime on the radio.

If your opinion on Wiz is based on his radio hits like "Black and Yellow" or "Roll Up" then I feel very sorry for you. " Swag like I just stepped out a boutique, and I spit like I got a mouth full of loose teeth."
